Message from the Presidents
After the resounding success of ENDO 2017 in Hyderabad, India it is with great pleasure that the World Endoscopy Organization (WEO) invites you to the 2nd World Congress of GI Endoscopy. ENDO 2020 will be held on March 7 – 10, 2020 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, one of the largest economic and cultural centers of South America.
WEO has joined forces with the Brazilian Society of Digestive Endoscopy (SOBED) to host the second edition of this international meeting. We are also very glad to announce that the Interamerican Society of Endoscopy (SIED) will also support ENDO 2020 as collaborating partner holding the 24th Pan American Congress of Digestive Endoscopy within the meeting.
As a result of this joint effort and with the support of our international scientific partners around the world, ENDO 2020 will present a comprehensive and innovative scientiﬁc program. Lectures and debates will address relevant local and global topics related to gastroenterology, hepatology and oncology from the endoscopist’s point of view.
An important highlight of ENDO 2020 is the live endoscopy demonstrations that will be held during three days of the congress from three different locations. A wide-ranging and interdisciplinary Learning Center for hands-on training will also be offered. ENDO 2020 will feature over 30 specialized symposia and expects to receive more than 5,000 participants from around the world.

WEO was established in 1962 during the World Congress of Gastroenterology in Munich, Germany. Since then it has led the promotion of high standards and quality in endoscopy
worldwide through enhancing international cooperation and access to training and education. WEO is a non-profit umbrella organization covering 3 geographical zones:
Asia-Pacific, Europe/Mediterranean and the Americas.
CO-HOST: SOBED, SOCIEDADE BRASILEIRA DE ENDOSCOPIA DIGESTIVA
Responsible for promoting the development of teaching, research and practice of digestive endoscopy in Brazil. SOBED is in charge of stablishing the standards in the field. The
organization also promotes regional, national and international events which foster professional innovation and enhance scientific, cultural and social interaction among specialists.
IN COLLABORATION WITH: SIED, INTERAMERICAN SOCIETY OF DIGESTIVE ENDOSCOPY
SIED is an umbrella society which has steadily increased its role in the promotion of endoscopy through the three Americas since 1973. SIED has been working in the promotion
and development of teaching, research and practice of digestive endoscopy, hosting the biennial Pan-American Congress of Endoscopy.
